I bought this skirt a little over a month ago from the Zara store on Third Street Promenade after it caught my eye online. (Even though I find most of my clothes through online shopping, I always recommend trying to track down an item in person to make sure you like the real thing.) It combines two of my favorite current trends – the high-low hemline and pleated skirt – in a flattering way that will never go out of style. Both of these elements create a lot of beautiful movement in the skirt when I walk, showcasing its elegant shape.

Last week, I showed you how I like to wear it with a loose t-shirt and belt, but I also love it with a fitted tank top and scarf.

Playing with asymmetrical hemlines, cut-outs and sheer illusion skirts is a very classy and dramatic way to show-off a little more skin without feeling too exposed. They can also be perfect for showcasing calf- or knee-high boots, a serious staple in my wardrobe.
